Stilleven
About our collection
The name Stilleven — Dutch for “still life” — draws inspiration from a genre that flourished in Flanders and the Netherlands in the early 17th century. More than just artistic expression, still life became a way to preserve the quiet beauty of everyday life among the affluent urban class.
Flowers, fruit, domestic objects, and botanical elements — both aesthetic and symbolic — were brought to life by painters such as Pieter Claesz, Maria van Oosterwijck, and Balthasar van der Ast. Their compositions captured a world suspended in elegance, intimacy, and meaning.
Poelle’s Stilleven collection is a modern interpretation of this timeless gaze. Each accessory is a refined still life in motion — sculpted in supple leather, shaped with precision, and imbued with quiet strength. Designed not to imitate the past, but to echo its depth — in form, in feeling, and in function.
